The company HORTEX is a Polish company that began its history back in 1944 when the Central Economic Cooperative of Gardening Cooperatives of the Republic of Poland was established. In 1949, it was transformed into the Central Cooperative of Gardening Cooperatives (CSO). In 1958, the Foreign Trade Enterprise (PHZ) named “HORTEX” was established. The name HORTEX comes from two words – “hortus” – garden and “export.
We offer a wide selection of juices, nectars, and beverages. Our range includes orange juice, apple juice, multivitamin juice, tomato juice, blackcurrant juice, cherry juice, grapefruit juice, grape juice, banana juice, beetroot juice (borscht), pineapple juice, as well as a diverse portfolio of non-carbonated beverages and nectars.
In our frozen foods range, we offer a wide variety of frozen fruits, single vegetables, vegetable blends, ready meals, seasoned vegetable skillet options, and pizzas. We produce packaging sizes ranging from 300 grams (0.66 lb) for the retail market to 2.5 kilograms (5.50 lb) for the HoReCa segment. Additionally, we manufacture private label brands.
We export to more than 50 countries worldwide, showcasing our commitment to global reach and market expansion. Hortex, as a key player in the Polish FMCG market, holds a prominent position in the frozen fruit and vegetable markets, boasting a 40% market share. The firm’s iconic brand and impressive distribution capabilities make it a strong platform for further organic growth and category expansion. We are actively growing the top-line through new product launches and refocusing our marketing strategy, aiming for sustained success and market leadership.
Hortex sp. z o.o., Polski Ogród sp. z o.o. and Jurajska S.A. form a cohesive group, collectively employing approximately 1300 regular employees, with additional seasonal staff during the peak July-December period for fruit and vegetable processing. Our production operations are streamlined, with specialized modern processing plants located strategically. Hortex focuses on juice production in Przysucha near Radom, while mineral water is produced in Postęp. Polski Ogród concentrates on frozen food production and packaging in Skierniewice.
