Polish pavilion at FHA Food & Beverage 2024

The recent instalment of one of Southeast Asia’s premier international food fairs, the FHA Food & Beverage 2024, unfolded in Singapore from April 23 to 26.

Representing Poland’s diverse culinary landscape, the national stand, organized by the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR), showcased the export prowess of over a dozen companies spanning various sectors: juices, confectionery, cereal products, meat products, frozen vegetables, snacks, honey, and organic foods.

On the first day, the inaugural ceremony was attended by Stefan Krajewski, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Henryk Smolarz, Director-General of KOWR, Ilona Korchut, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Polish Embassy in Singapore, and Krzysztof Jażdżewski, Chief Veterinary Officer. They ceremonially open the Polish pavilion.

During the fair, the national stand attracted a lot of attention from visitors, with Polish entrepreneurs engaging in promising discussions with potential business partners. Each day, the stand hosted culinary demonstrations and tastings, offering visitors the opportunity to savour authentic Polish dishes prepared by experienced chefs.

In conjunction with Poland’s participation in FHA Food & Beverage 2024, a series of additional activities were organized to enhance the impact of its presence. Before the event, Polish entrepreneurs were given guided tours of local retail chains, providing them with valuable insights through “store checks”. Furthermore, a networking session was arranged to facilitate connections between Polish delegates, counterparts from Central and Eastern European countries and potential importers. This initiative was coordinated by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) Foreign Trade Office in Singapore.

To increase the impact of promotional efforts in the Singaporean market, an article highlighting the production and export potential of Polish food, prepared by KOWR, was featured in The Business Times. At the same time, strategic social media campaigns were deployed, fostering visibility and engagement. Notably, on the second day of the fair, the Polish stand welcomed a visit from a renowned Singaporean culinary blogger.  Thanks to the concerted endeavours of KOWR, Poland’s presence at the fair and its culinary offerings received noteworthy coverage in local media outlets.

Singapore is an attractive market for Polish agri-food exports, with strong import potential. In addition to meeting domestic demand, Singapore serves as a crucial re-export hub within the South-East Asian region.

In recent days, the Singapore market has been opened to beef from Poland, which creates new export opportunities for Polish beef producers.
