Polish national stand at the Vietfood & Beverage 2024 fair in Vietnam

The largest food fair in Vietnam, which is attended by approximately 900 exhibitors every year, including those from Poland, was held on 8th to 10th August 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City. In the line with strategy defined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR), carrying out the activities promoting the Polish agri-food products on the foreign markets, organised the Polish national stand under the banner “Poland tastes good” during the fair. This-year edition of the event gathered the companies offering: meat and meat products, dairy, pastry and confectionery, fish products, including sturgeon caviar, cereal products, grains and fruit and vegetable products.

Throughout each day of the fair, the national stand hosted culinary shows and tastings conducted by Polish chefs, introducing visitors to the flavors of Polish cuisine as well as culinary traditions and culture. The Polish stand enjoyed great popularity among the fair visitors, while the entrepreneurs conducted many interviews with the potential business partners.

On the day preceding the fair kickoff, the entrepreneurs were encouraged to take part in the meetings accompanying the visits to the largest retail chains in Vietnam selling the imported food – Co.opExtra, Lotte Vietnam Shopping, Tops Market and Winmart.

The presence of Poland at the Vietfood & Beverage 2024 fair was additionally strengthened by the involvement of the representatives of the Association of Butchers and Producers of Processed Meat of the Republic of Poland and the National Union of Fruit and Vegetable Producer Groups – Legal Person Cooperative at the stand organised under the “Taste of Europe” campaign.

The joint efforts of the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR), industry organisations and entrepreneurs in the performed activities (in particular b2b meetings and press conference) was well received by the Vietnamese Party.

Vietnam is the key partner of Poland in trading in agri-food products among the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. It should be noted that in 2023 the value of the Polish agri-food export to this country amounted to 176 milion euro, showing an increase of 22 milion euros y/y. The products most willingly imported from Poland by Vietnam include meat (pork and poultry), fish and dairy.
