From 22 to 24 November 2022, the 38th edition of the Israfood exhibition took place in Tel Aviv. As part of activities promoting Polish food and agricultural products on foreign markets in line with the strategy set out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (the KOWR) for a second time organised a national stand at the exhibition under the slogan “Poland tastes good”.
The International Exhibition for Food and Beverage ISRAFOOD is the most important trade event for the Israeli food industry. The fair is a space where producers, importers, distributors and representatives of commercial networks can meet and engage with each other. The fair is attended by producers and distributors of food and beverages from both Israel and other countries.
The Polish national stand, with an area of 60 sq.m., featured the offer of 10 Polish companies that promoted among others honey, apples, frozen fruit, fruit and vegetable preserves, non-alcoholic beverages, rice wafers, cornflakes, instant products, healthy cereal snacks and bread baking mixes. The presented products met with considerable interest of the fair visitors. In addition, importers and distributors visiting the stand put numerous questions to the KOWR employees, asking for more details about the export offer of producers of dairy products (cheese), sweets (chocolate), fruit preservers (apple puree/mousse), blueberries, frozen ready meals, pasta and oils.
On the first day of the fair, the stand was visited by Mrs Agata Czaplińska, Chargé d’affaires a.i. at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Israel, Mrs Maria Jurek, Third Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Israel and the head of the Political and Economic Section, and Mr Mateusz Kamer representing the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Tel Aviv, who remained present at the KOWR stand during the entire fair.
The Polish attendance at the fair was accompanied by a trade mission organised by the KOWR in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Office in Tel Aviv on 21 November. As part of the mission, visits to the largest Israel chain stores Shufersal and Rami Levy took place. Representatives of Polish companies had the opportunity to learn about the current assortment of products and prices on the Israeli market. In addition, representatives of chain stores participated in B2B meetings organised in subsequent days at the KOWR stand.
The Israeli market is attractive and offers good prospects for Polish companies of food sector. A systematic increase of the value of exports of Polish products has been observed for a few years now, which was reflected in considerable interest in Polish products among the fair visitors.
