The 48th edition of Foodex Japan – one of the largest and most important exhibition events of the food industry in Asia – took place in Tokyo from 7 to 10 March 2023. It was the first edition of the fair since COVID-19 restrictions were introduced in 2020, in which representatives of the industry from outside Japan could participate in person.
In accordance with the strategy defined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and as part of its efforts to promote Polish agri-food products in foreign markets, the National Support Centre for Agriculture organized a Polish national stand at this fair for the fourth time, this year under the slogan “Poland tastes good”.
The Polish export offer at the national stand was promoted by a total of 20 companies representing the following product groups: sweets, including chocolates, creams, pralines, cream fudge candies, toffee, chocolate-coated confectionary, cookies, cream rolls, wafers, sprinkles and nonpareils, pectin jelly, as well as sturgeon caviar, vegetable preserves, turkey and chicken meat, eggs, egg powders, natural foods, superfoods, dietary supplements, frozen fruit and vegetables (including organic fruit and vegetables), coffee, tea, syrups, natural juices, jams and preserves, spreadable cheeses, powdered dairy products, milk mixtures with prebiotics, ice cream powder with prebiotics, and non-alcoholic soft drinks.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Japan Paweł Milewski performed the official opening of the stand.
The Polish national stand was also visited by representatives of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s Foreign Trade Office in Tokyo.
Each day of the fair, the Polish national stand hosted special tasting ceremonies
and culinary presentations led by Polish chefs. They served to promote Polish cuisine, as well as Polish traditions and culinary culture among the guests visiting the trade fair.
The Polish stand was very popular with fair visitors, while Polish entrepreneurs held numerous talks with potential business partners.
