Polish national stand at Seoul Food & Hotel fair in South Korea

On 11-14 June 2024, the Seoul Food & Hotel 2024 fair took place in Seoul. This is the largest food fair in South Korea, with approximately 1,600 exhibitors from 53 countries, including Poland.

In line with the strategy outlined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as part of the implementation of activities promoting Polish agri-food products on foreign markets, since 2018, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) has been organising at this event a Polish national stand under the slogan “Poland tastes good”. This year’s edition of the fair showcased the export offer of companies producing sweets and confectionery products, dairy products, cereal products, grains and spices, and fish products, including sturgeon caviar.

The stand was officially opened by Michał Kołodziejczak – Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, along with Piotr Ostaszewski – Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Korea, and a representative of the KOWR. The opening ceremony was also attended by entrepreneurs presenting their products at the national stand, as well as members of the economic mission of the Polish meat industry at the fair.

The Polish stand was very popular among the fair visitors, and the Polish entrepreneurs engaged in numerous conversations with potential business partners.

In 2023, the value of food exports from Poland to South Korea amounted to EUR 83 million, marking a 10% increase from 2022. Key exported products included dairy products, potato starch, beer, confectionery products, as well as cereal and flour products.
