On 16-17 November 2022 in Malmo, Sweden, the next edition of the international Nordic Organic Food Fair (NOFF), one of the most important exhibition events in the organic food industry in the Nordic countries, was hosted.
For the second time, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) – in accordance with the strategy set out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as part of its efforts to promote Polish agri-food products on foreign markets – organised a Polish national stand at this fair. This time with an area of 143.5 sqm and under the slogan “Poland tastes good.” The opening of the Polish stand was made by: Ms. Joanna Hoffman – Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm, and Ms. Małgorzata Gośniowska-Kola – Deputy Director General of KOWR.
At this year’s fair, Poland was awarded the honorary title of “Country of the year.”
At the KOWR stand, 11 companies promoted their products, offering such products as: fresh fruits and vegetables, fruit and vegetable juices, vegetable sauces, gluten-free and low-protein bakery products: bread, cakes, pastries, pasta, flour blends, expanded wafers, rice wafers, rice chips, rice wafers, buckwheat and millet groats, flakes: oat, buckwheat, millet, and poultry meat. The Polish stand was very popular with visitors, and Polish companies made up the largest group of foreign exhibitors at the fair.
In addition, the Polish presence at the fair was enhanced by speeches delivered by Polish experts during a panel discussion devoted to the growing importance of the Polish organic food sector and its export potential in the Scandinavian market.
Fair participants were able to taste some Polish cuisine at the Polish stand during culinary demonstrations and tastings organised by KOWR.
The Swedish market is very attractive and promising for Polish organic products. For several years, a systematic increase in the value of Polish product exports to Sweden has been observed, which was reflected in the great interest of visitors in Polish products offered by Polish companies present at the national stand.
