The 49th edition of Foodex Japan, one of the largest food and beverage trade shows in Asia, took place in Tokyo, Japan, from 5-8 March 2024.
The National Support Centre for Agriculture, in line with the strategy defined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as part of its efforts to promote Polish agri-food products on foreign markets, organised a national stand at this fair for the fifth time under the slogan ‘Poland tastes good’.
Poland’s export offer at the national stand was presented by several dozen companies presenting their offer to the foreign counterparties, including: sweets, fruit and vegetables, fruit juices, dairy and plant products, herbs, spices, organic products, cereal products, honey, sturgeon caviar, teas, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
The stand was officially opened by Paweł Milewski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Japan.
Each day, the Polish national stand hosted culinary shows conducted by Polish chefs, which introduced fair visitors to the flavours of Polish cuisine, as well as culinary tradition and culture.
The Polish stand was very popular, and Polish entrepreneurs held numerous talks with potential business partners.
The export of Polish agri-food products to Japan in 2023 reached a value of EUR 87.5 million. However, Japan’s potential to import food products from Poland is much greater – as evidenced by the very high interest in this direction among Polish entrepreneurs.
