Polish national stand at Biofach 2022

The National Support Centre for Agriculture (the KOWR), after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak, took part in Europe’s largest international organic food fair, BIOFACH, which was held from 26 to 29 July 2022 in Nuremberg, Federal Republic of Germany.
Biofach is the world’s largest trade fair in the organic industry. The KOWR, in accordance with the strategy set out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as part of its efforts to promote Polish agri-food products in foreign markets, for the fourth time organised a Polish national stand at the Biofach fair under the slogan ”Poland tastes good” in a stationary format.
At the Polish national stand, organised by the KOWR, totalling 260 sq. m., export offers were promoted by 21 Polish companies as well as by the following trade organisations: The Polish Chamber of Organic Food (PIŻE) and the National Association of Processors and Producers of Organic Products “Polska Ekologia”. Presentations included: fruit and vegetable juices, coffee, honey, teas and herbs, fresh and frozen fruits, as well as vegetables, pasta, flours, groats and other grain products, gluten-free products, oils and fish.
The Polish stand also featured an information booth of the Sector Promotion Programme for Polish food specialities developed under sub-measure 3.3.2 regarding the promotion of the economy on the basis of Polish product brands – Brand of Polish Economy – Go to Brand of the Smart Growth Operational Programme (POIR). As part of the Sector Promotion Programme booth, cooking shows were held, during which visitors to the fair could taste traditional Polish dishes, served by Polish chefs using Polish organic products.
On the first day of the fair, the Polish stand was visited by, among others, Mr. Janusz Wojciechowski – Commissioner for Agriculture at the European Commission, Mr. Cem Özdemir – Minister of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Mr. Jan M. Malkiewicz – Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Munich.
Poland’s presence at Biofach was an excellent opportunity to promote Poland’s and the EU’s rapidly growing organic food and agriculture sector and for Polish companies to establish business relationships.
