The latest edition of Food Africa Cairo – Egypt’s largest international food trade fair and one of the most significant international agri-food exhibitions on the African continent – took place in Cairo, Egypt, from December 12 to 14, 2023.
For the sixth time, the National Support Centre for Agriculture organized a national stand, enabling companies to showcase Polish food products. These included dairy products (such as milk and whey powders, casein), sweets, confectionery, breakfast products, cereal products, meat and processed meat products, fruit and vegetables, both frozen and processed, as well as potato starch and potato protein. Manufacturers of technology, machinery, and equipment for agri-food producers were also present at the national stand, offering solutions for refrigeration and maintaining production hygiene.
Visitors to the fair had the opportunity to taste dishes of traditional Polish cuisine prepared at the national stand during live cooking presentations by Polish chefs.
The Polish stand was honoured with the fair organiser’s prize.
The stand was visited by Michał Chabros, Chargé d’affaires ad interim at the Polish Embassy in Cairo.
According to the organiser’s estimates, this year’s edition of the fair attracted 800 exhibitors from 32 countries. The event provided an excellent opportunity to promote Polish food and establish business contacts for Polish companies interested in exporting to Egypt and other African countries.
On the day before the start of the fair, entrepreneurs attended meetings at two local retail chains (Lulu and Hyper One) aimed at familiarizing them with the conditions and rules for entering the Egyptian market.
