The first edition of the International Food Exhibition (ADIFE) took place between 6 and 8 December 2022 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) and the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (ZBH PAIH) in Dubai represented the Polish food sector at a national information stand set up within the European Union pavilion.
The fair gathered the most important players in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries from Abu Dhabi and countries of the region. The event was organised under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
During ADIFE 2022 key meetings with representatives of such enterprises and institutions as Lulu Group International, Silal, Agthia, Elite Agro, Al Dahra Food Industries, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, or Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority were held. They were attended by Mr. Adrian Gawłowski, Deputy Director of the Export Support Department at the KOWR, as well as representatives of the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, ZBH PAIH in Dubai, and Polish companies present at the fair. A discussion panel on topics of investment in agrotechnology to benefit a harmonious and stable food supply chain was held on 7 December. The panel featured Mr. Jan Wernicki, the President of the Management Board at the National Food Group and Mr. Adrian Gawłowski, Deputy Director of the Export Support Department at the KOWR.
The Middle Eastern market, which includes the UAE, is highly appealing and promising for Polish companies in the agri-food sector. A systematic growth in value of Polish exports has been observed for a few years. It was reflected in the large interest of international companies with the offer of Polish businesses.
