Polish national stand at the Yummex Middle East 2021 fair in Dubai

The Yummex Middle East fair is the most important event in the confectionery and snacks industry in the Middle East. The 14th edition of the fair was held in Dubai, UAE, from 7–9 November 2021.

At the fair, within the framework of foreign promotional activities approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, a Polish national stand with an area of 108 sq m was organised for the first time by the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR). Six companies presented their offer at the stand, providing a wide range of products, such as fudge, toffee, honey, including organic honey, gluten-free and low-protein bakery products, cakes and pastries, food additives, functional sweets, including chocolates with vitamins, jam with rose petals and fruit juices and syrups.

Additionally, in the form of a showroom, the product range of another four companies was presented, namely instant products, fruit and nuts in chocolate as well as black raspberry syrups.

The Polish national stand was visited by Ms Katarzyna Rzeźniczek – First Counsellor, Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi.

The fair was an excellent opportunity to establish new business contacts with potential partners from the UAE and other countries of the MENA region (the Middle East and North Africa).

It is important to note that Polish companies were the largest national group of exhibitors at the fair. 26 Polish companies participated in the fair, including companies gathered at the Polish national stand organised by KOWR.

The confectionery and snacks industry is a thriving part of the Polish food market. Enterprises in this industry are innovative and keep up with the rapidly changing trends in this market segment. At the same time, Polish confectionery and snacks are still competitive in terms of quality and price. Health & wellness is an important direction for the development of the confectionery and snack category – it is a health-promoting trend that encourages consumers to be more inclined to make healthier food choices. This trend was also reflected in the offers of companies who participated in the Polish national stand organised by KOWR

Starting from the next edition of the event, which will take place from 8–10 November 2022, the fair will be renamed ISM Middle East.
