Polish national stand under the theme POLAND TASTES GOOD during at the WorldFood Poland Virtual Expo

On 20-22 April 2021 the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) organised a virtual Polish national stand under the theme POLAND TASTES GOOD during the 7th edition of the International Food & Drink Exhibition – WorldFood Poland Virtual Expo.

The purpose of the stand was to support Polish food producers and exporters and to build a positive brand image of Polish food among foreign customers, and above all to create a contact point for companies wishing to start cooperation with Polish suppliers of top quality food and beverages.

Fifteen companies from the agri-food sector presented their offer at the Polish national stand, as part of the WorldFood and EcoFood exhibition zones, offering such products as:

  • milk and dairy products (cheese, curd cheese, yoghurt, etc.),
  • meat and meat products, including poultry (chicken and turkey),
  • fresh fruit and vegetables, both conventional and organic produce,
  • frozen fruit and vegetables, mushrooms and herbs, conventionally grown and organic,
  • preserved, dried and freeze-dried fruit and vegetables,
  • juices and concentrates, NFC pressed juices, conventional and organic,
  • frozen and smoked fish (salmon, salmon trout, mackerel, pickled and canned fish),
  • sweets, conventional and organic,
  • cereal products: pasta, breadmaking mixes, products based on blue corn, healthy, gluten-free and organic cereal crisps,
  • single spices and seasoning mixes, mustards, horseradish preserves, fruit vinegars,
  • teas, coffees, herbal teas,
  • dietary supplements, fruit fibres.

The main part of the WorldFood Poland exhibition consisted of meetings and networking among participants, held via a virtual platform. The event also featured talks, lectures and panel discussions.

The speakers included representatives of the government, state and non-governmental institutions, experts and entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of the media, whose contribution attracted great interest. The conferences organised during WorldFood Poland exhibition were attended by over 1.5 thousand participants.

Each day of the event was divided into thematic blocks related to current issues and challenges faced by the food industry. The topics discussed included, inter alia:

  • the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international trade in the agri-food sector,
  • exporting to Eastern markets and all related formal and practical aspects,
  • trends that are shaping the future of the food industry, innovations, superfoods and novel foods,
  • the organic food market in Poland and worldwide,
  • dietary supplements and functional foods,
  • quality systems in the production of pork and pork products,
  • Polish Vodka as an element of cultural heritage and tradition,
  • competences of future employees and directions of changes in the HoReCa industry.

 The fair was attended by 160 exhibitors from 22 countries and 2166 logged-in users, representing mainly wholesale and retail trade, food production and catering.
