Polish national stand at the PLMA 2024 fair in Chicago

Between 17 and 19 November 2024, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) organised for the first time the national stand at PLMA (U.S. Private Label Show) in Chicago – the largest private label fair at the American continent.

The KOWR stand promoted the products of 7 food sector operators under the “Poland tastes good” brand. The Polish companies presented among others the following products to their American and Canadian prospects: NFC juices, fruit juices and syrups, smoothies, functional drinks, lyophilised fruits, processed vegetable products, fish products, rice and corn wafers, cereal cookies, flour and processed flour products, rapeseed oil and alcoholic products.

The PLMA fairs, both these organised in Amsterdam and their American version from Chicago, are recognised among the food sector companies and have been attracting unwavering interest of the Polish entrepreneurs for years.

The American edition of PLMA – U.S. Private Label Show has been organised for more than 40 years and is a good place to establish contacts enabling entry on the U.S. and Canadian markets. This fair attracts the traders, importers, representatives of the largest supermarkets, retail chains, discount stores, e-stores and wholesalers.

According to the organisers, during this-year edition a record number of more than 1,800 exhibitors from 60 countries was achieved. In effect, the PLMA – U.S. Private Label Show visitors were able to familiarise with rich and diversified product offer and innovations in the food sector, including of the Polish companies.

In 2023, the dominating products in the structure of the Polish agri-food export to the USA included: fish and fish products (19%), confectionery products (16%), wheat (9%), processed cereal and flour products (9%), red meat and offal and processed meat products (9%), vegetables (including mushrooms) and processed vegetable products (8%) as well as fruit and vegetable juices (6%).
