Another edition of one of Europe’s biggest and most important food fairs, Alimentaria, was held in Barcelona, Spain, from 18 to 21 March 2024.
In line with the strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to promote Polish agri-food products on foreign markets, the National Support Centre for Agriculture organised a national stand for the first time at Alimentaria, under the slogan “Poland tastes good”.
The Polish companies at the stand showcased a wide range of Polish export products, including sweets, meat, frozen fruit and vegetables, mushrooms, dairy products, cereals, processed fruit and vegetable products and juices to their foreign partners.
The opening event was attended by King Felipe VI of Spain, and the Polish stand was opened by Anna Sroka, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra.
The Polish stand was highly popular, and entrepreneurs participating in the fair held numerous meetings with potential business partners.
Spain is the seventh largest recipient of Polish agri-food products. In 2023, the value of Polish exports to this country reached almost €1.8 billion.
